Announcing a CARF Three-Year Accreditation
We are pleased to report
to you that Royal Terrace has been
accredited for a period of three years for Person-Centred Long-Term Care Community. This is the first accreditation that the
international accrediting body, CARF, has awarded to Royal Terrace.
By pursuing and achieving
accreditation, Royal Terrace has
demonstrated that it meets international standards for quality and is committed
to pursuing excellence.
This accreditation decision represents the
highest level of accreditation that can be awarded to an organization and shows
our organization’s substantial conformance to the CARF standards. An
organization receiving a Three-Year Accreditation has put itself through a
rigorous peer review process. It has demonstrated to a team of surveyors during
an on-site visit its commitment to offering programs and services that are
measurable, accountable, and of the highest quality.
Royal Terrace is a Private organization that
has been providing Person-Centred Long-Term Care in the
North Wellington area since 1989.
CARF is an independent, nonprofit
accrediting body whose mission is to promote the quality, value, and optimal
outcomes of services through a consultative accreditation process that centers
on enhancing the lives of the persons served. Founded in 1966 as the Commission
on Accreditation of Rehabilitation Facilities, and now known as CARF
International, the accrediting body establishes consumer-focused standards to
help organizations measure and improve the quality of their programs and
services.
We would welcome an opportunity to further acquaint you with
our services and respond to your questions. We believe our organization is a
valuable asset, and our CARF accreditation underscores our commitment to the
community we serve.

A special thanks to all employees, volunteers, family members, and residents who continue to participate in the CARF program in the on-going quest for quality improvement. Your commitment to Royal Terrace is very much appreciated. Way to go teams!
New Information Technology System
Technology has become part of our daily lives, both personal and professional. It's the same in the LTC sector, and Royal Terrace has now implemented a new information technology system, called E-MAR. JUST Introduced in January of 2011, this Electronic Medication Administration Record will enhance efficiency and reduce the likelihood of medication errors. We are truly excited about this new system! A special thanks to Medical Pharmacy for your expertise and continued support throughout the implementation process.
Become a Volunteer
Royal Terrace is always seeking new volunteers! With the approach of spring and summer, this means that we venture outdoors with our residents once again, and we are SO excited about upcoming community outings in 2011. In order to make these outings, and other special/ seasonal events around the home a success, we need volunteer assistance. If you are interested in becoming a volunteer and would like more information, please contact us. We truly look forward to hearing from you!
